This project aims to develop ideas for promoting physical activity in the NHS that are desirable to take up and feasible to deliver.
To do this we have gathered the views of patients about their aspirations for their future health and how physical activity fits into their lives.
We have also talked to a range of health professionals about the role that physical activity plays in current NHS care pathways and asked them how they think patients can be supported to be physically active.
Two groups of patients and health professionals are now meeting regularly to co-design solutions for the NHS to support people with getting and staying active. The project is using principles of human-centred design to develop solutions that reflect and meet real-world needs.
