Physical activity has been shown to reduce the risk of mental illness and enhance psychological wellbeing. The NCSEM is working in this area to develop strategies improving mental health in the workplace, put forward the case for incorporating exercise into the treatment of mental illness and identify and manage eating disorders in sport.
